All about me - Sakshi

Hi there!

I am so delighted to be the part of this wonderful group. This class should definitely be a need or requirement for all the 21st century teachers. The way the world is moving toward technology is a clear indication for teachers like us to stand out and explore and learn a new innovative way to teach.

I received my teaching certification from Boise State University in 2010. I have been very keen on teaching since my childhood. At first, it was only entertainment as I found it exciting to solve intricate mathematical problems. Later it became passion something more than mere a hobby. I started tutoring during my high school when couple of neighbourhood kids came to me for getting some homework help. It is the time when my passion started developing.

I moved to US in 2003 after finishing my Masters in India. I joined a tutoring company in Virginia to full fill my eagerness to teach. That time I realised that I had to change my pace of teaching according to the individual student's ability to grasp and retain the information. This was depend on various factor such as Student's background, culture, social aspect, family, a fluency in English. I had to come up with different techniques and methods to explain same mathematical concepts and theories to different students. To further advance myself in teaching career, I joined as an Adjunct Faculty at BSU to teach some Math courses before I started my teaching certification at BSU. Since learning is a Life long process, I see myself as a learner. I believe that enthusiastic teachers are learners who learn every moment of their life from their students, take thousands of decisions to full fill the students social/psychological/educational needs while keeping high expectations from students.

Currently, I am living in Singapore with my husband and 2 kids and enjoying the tropical environment and trips to near by islands. Seeing fast pace of development of technology in Asia, I would like to congratulate all of you to be the part of this class and giving yourself an opportunity to be ready for the next coming years in the WORLD OF TECH....
